Certification of Legal Documents for Business Use
A- Documents issued by an Agency of A state: Example:
- Certificate of Good Standing issued by the corporation registry office of any state.
- Health Certificate issued by the department of health of any state.
These documents must be
1- Stamped by the issuing agency
2- Certified by the secretary of that state. Documents are then
3- Authenticated by the US Department of State in Washington D.C.
4- Presented to the appropriate Iraqi consular office (there are three districts in the US) for legalizationB- Documents issued by an Agency of the Federal Government: Example:
- Certificate to foreign government issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- A certified trade mark registration issued by the United States Patent and Trade Mark Office.
Only the original federal documents (a copy will be rejected) must be:
1- Authenticated by the US Department of State in Washington D.C.
2- Presented to the Iraqi consulate office in Washington D.C. for legalization.C- Documents issued by A Company: Example:
- Agency Agreement
- Financial records
- Affidavit
1- Documents must be notarized in the state where the company is located.
2- Certified by that secretary of state. (Some states requires the stamp of the clerk of the court)
3- Authenticated by the US Department of State in Washington D.C.
4- Presented to the appropriate Iraqi consular office (there are three districts in the US) for legalization
