The Iraqi diplomatic mission has divided document processing duties between three locations: most documents must be legalized in the appropriate consular jurisdiction.

• Documents issued from  the following states are processed at the Consular Section of the Embassy of Iraq in Washington, D.C.:
  Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.
