Export documents issued by all 50 states must be processed at the Iraqi Commercial Office located at: 1155 15th Street, NW Suite 1100, Washington, DC 20005.

Documents must be certified in the state of the manufacturer and by the local chamber of commerce and authenticated by the US Department of State.
The Iraqi Commercial office imposes strict regulations for certifying documents and will reject any that do not meet those regulations. Please verify that your documents meet the following conditions:

C/O or C/I must be issued from the U.S. and contain company name, physical address (No PO Box) , and telephone number .
- The name , physical address (No PO Box) , and telephone number of the importer in Iraq must appear on the documents.
- If your C/O or C/I contains multiple pages, they should be numbered. Example 1/3, 2/3, 3/3. The last page should be full.
- C/O or C/I must be signed by a company official in the presence of a notary, the signer must print his name beneath the signature.
- The documents must be certified from your local chamber of commerce.
- The documents must also be certified from your secretary of state.
- If you are exporting drugs or food you must include a copy of a health certificate issued by your department of health, FDA, or the USDA.
- If you are not exporting to an Iraqi government agency, you must include a copy of the bill of lading and shipping insurance of your shipment.
- Products must be manufactured in the United States. Products manufactured wholly in a foreign country cannot be certified from the Iraqi commercial office in the United States.
- If your Invoice is over $1,000,000 please include a copy of the letter of credit and the Contract.
* Exception: If the products are being purchased by an Iraqi ministry and their name appears on the C/I or C/O, exporters need only to include one of the following: Inspection, Bill of Lading, or Insurance.
Many companies submit documents that are rejected or delayed because they do not follow the above rules or because of mistakes in the information submitted. These rejections or delays cost companies significant time and money for fines, charges for storage, or not meeting the conditions of the letter of credit.
The US Arab Chamber of Commerce offers expedited service to authenticate C/O & C/I from the US Department of State and Iraqi Commercial office in approximately 9 business days!

In case of document rejection or problem, USACC will work with you to help you resolve the issues whenever possible.

If a document is rejected a second time, additional processing fees will be charged on a case-by-case basis.

Documents are generally processed by the Iraqi Commercial office within six business days.
Documents are hand-carried to all points of processing and are tracked throughout the entire certification process.

- Checks should be made out to the US Arab Chamber of Commerce. Companies who will be using our services frequently can set up billing accounts, please call for information. Charges may also be paid using a credit card, however a 5% handling fee will be charged.
- Be sure to include your payment, a cover letter that includes a mailing address, telephone contact number and an active email address, along with a self-addressed and postage-paid Fed-Ex, UPS or Priority mail envelope or mailing label for the return of your documents.
